This is the first in a series of graphic design projects and examples of the variety of images available in the LKArts Shop and how they were combined to create something totally different than the original photos. The details are provided for reference.
Happiness Hoedown is a promotional flyer created for a local non-profit for a fundraising event to provide scholarships to Happiness through Horses, an organization that supports and empowers the vulnerable youth in our community.
The client needed this quickly & wanted a rustic but readable 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 size so they could be printed two at a time on letter size paper. A previous flyer was provided as a sample and the original text, logo & Band images were all supplied. The original text was too long and edited to fit.
The background images are layered textures and the wood star cutout are all from the LKArts photography collection. Texture 4238 is set at a 90% screen transparency to achieve the translucent composite on the final design.
The fonts used include: Amazone, Adven Vintage & Myriad Pro Regular & Bold. A white box set to 50% transparency was included behind the smaller text to make sure it is easy to read.
On the first proof Kim requested the addition of purple for some of the text and this was accomplished by highlighting the event title. The original 2nd paragraph was changed to a ‘bullet list’ for easier readability.
The applications used include Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat.
